DadWords
I keep all my dad jokes in my Dad-A-Base
Dad Jokes + Word Games = A Laughing Good Time
Overview
Expanding on my database skills gained through a 20 year career using SQL, I endeavored to learn more about No-Code tools to create relational databases. The goal was not only to analyze data and create a database, but also build a solution that would allow for data to be added to the database.
Solution
A database and a form that allows for information to be entered. To create the solution I needed to generate a list of Dad Jokes, and put the information into the database. Gemini was a great help once I provided it some samples of where to pull jokes form. I was also able to get the data formatted into a file that I could import to Airtable easily. Further, I was able to instruct Gemini to create thematic media for me to use for the different puzzles, and group like jokes together with themes like “space” and “vegetables”, to make each puzzle more meaningful beyond just the clues for the crosswords.
Role
For this solution I was the Creative Director, with the help of Google Gemini, and I was the Database Administrator/Developer with the help of Airtable. Combining the resources of these tools allowed me to see more of how I can leverage No-Code Development tools in my daily professional life to reduce the level of manual tasks that are required to manage data in a relational database.
